Voice of Business Award

The Voice of Business Award was created by the Burlington County Chamber of Commerce in 1992 to recognize an outstanding individual, business or organization who has demonstrated commitment to the county and business community by:

  • Improving the image and economic growth potential of the county
  • Involvement in community projects
  • Innovation
  • Leadership


In 2006 due to an overwhelming interest in expanding the Voice of Business Awards Program to honor the Stars of Burlington County, the Voice of Business Award Program was expanded and now includes the following Award Categories:

New Voices Award - Honors a business in operation at the time of nomination for at least 12 months but no more than 5 years, which has demonstrated a commitment to growing their business in Burlington County and has further demonstrated the successful launch of an entrepreneurial enterprise with the potential for long-term growth.

Mariela Vila McCarrie, President and Owner - Always There in Home Health Care, LLC

Public Voice Award
- Honors an elected official at the municipal, county, state or national levels who has served in an elected capacity for a minimum of two years.  The receipient has demonstrated his or her commitment to the business community by being a proven ally, and their efforts have directly aided in the enrichment of the area's economic development.  The receipient's actions have resulted in a strong, positive business climate in Burlington County. 
2009 Public Voice Award Recipient:
Mayor Thomas E. Harper, Wrightstown Borough

Economic Development Award - Recognizes an individual, company, organization or business association that has demonstrated proactive involvement in promoting business/community growth or revitalization in Burlington County.  The receipient has further demonstrated a significant commitment in supporting the Burlington County business community. 
2009 Economic Development Award Recipient:
 
Viridian Partners, LLC

Business Excellence Award - Recognizes a business that has demonstrated excellence in commitment to the business & economic development of Burlington County through increasing local employment opportunities, demonstration of leadership & commitment to the community through their involvement in community activities, use of strategic partnerships and an entrepreneurial spirit. 
2009 Business Excellence Award Recipients: 
Thomas/Boyd Communications - 25 or fewer employees
Thomas Phoenix International, Inc - 26-100 employees
Hill International, Inc - 101+ employees

Community Enrichment Award - Recognizes a nonprofit organization or agency that makes Burlington County a better place by making a positive impact on the lives of Burlington County residents.  The recipient has demonstrated a far-reaching commitment to the community. 
2009 Community Enrichment Award Recipient: 
MEND, Inc

Chairman's Award of Excellence - Recognizes an individual or business that has significantly contributed to the Burlington County Chamber of Commerce.  The recipient has gone above and beyond to further the mission of the Chamber.

Criteria and nomination forms for the Voice of Business Awards Program can be obtained by contacting the Chamber office at bccoc@bccoc.com or at 856-439-2520. The nominees do not have to be a Chamber member.

The next awards will be presented in April 2010. Nominations will be accepted in Fall 2009.
